The HONOR 300 series is officially set to launch in China on December 2, bringing at least three new devices: the HONOR 300 Ultra, HONOR 300 Pro, and HONOR 300. Now, there are some interesting details on the Pro model that surfaced online.

The HONOR 300 Pro, identified as HONOR AMP-AN00, recently surfaced on Geekbench with details about its hardware. Notably, the device is powered by a custom Qualcomm chip resembling an underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Here are the clock speeds based on the Geekbench listing:

  • Prime Core: 3.05 GHz (down from 3.30 GHz on the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3).
  • 5x Large Cores: 2.96 GHz.
  • 2x Efficiency Cores: 2.04 GHz.

The HONOR 300 Pro achieved scores of 2,141 in single-core performance and 6,813 in multi-core performance.

The listing also confirms 16GB of RAM and Android 15, likely running on MagicOS 9.0.

Pokdepinion: An underclocked chip would potentially lead to better thermal efficiency and battery life at the cost of performance. At times, the performance could even be better on an overall level due to the improved efficiency so I can’t wait to see how it actually performs.
