HONOR has announced the upcoming release of the HONOR X9c Smart in Malaysia, a budget-friendly addition to its X Series lineup that follows the launch of the HONOR X9c 5G earlier this month. It will be available for purchase nationwide starting December 11, 2024, at 8 PM, the company announced.

According to the smartphone maker, the HONOR X9c Smart offers a more budget-friendly price point with “slightly adjusted specifications.” Still, it promises the same “ultra-tough triple defense” durability as the HONOR X9c 5G, which covers drop resistance, water resistance, and scratch resistance. On the other hand, this model will feature flat screens due to consumer demand.
Design-wise, the X9c Smart largely shares the same look as the X9c 5G’s Jade Cyan variant with its marble pattern on the back panel, though colors differ with Ocean Cyan and Moonlight White options available for the budget model. Meanwhile, the camera bump is visually more similar to that of the X9b 5G released last year.
Additionally, the rendered images also gave away one of the camera’s specs, which is an 108-megapixel unit. Other than that, we’ll have to wait until the smartphone is officially available to know all the specs, or earlier if the company choose to do another announcement at a later date.
