Unboxing the Acer Iconia Tab P11
Starting off our Acer Iconia Tab P11 review with the unboxing, the packaging looks surprisingly good for a budget tablet. It’s rather colorful and lively, especially given that a number of its competitors tend to stick to only muted colors or just opt for a simple brown cardboard box. Inside the box, we found the following items:
- Charger
- USB-C cable
- Protective case with kickstand
- Documentations
- The Acer Iconia Tab P11 itself

Performance
Starting off with Antutu v10, the Acer Iconia Tab P11 showed lackluster performance. This is due to the use of the outdated MediaTek Helio G99 chip, which is on the conversative side of performance even when it was new. This was even back when the average consumer would rather not go for MediaTek chips if they could afford it but things have changed drastically since as their newer chips are far better in comparison.
A similar pattern can be seen in Geekbench 6 as its single and multi core performances are almost on par with a midrange smartphone from early last year. It’s not entirely terrible, but it’s definitely not one you would want to run the most hardened of tasks on.
Moving on to 3DMark, it is still capable of decent 3D graphical performance but you should definitely not set your expectations high on this. Some light gaming should still be possible unless the games you’re thinking of are the likes of Genshin Impact.
Things look a bit more promising on PCMark’s Work 3.0 benchmark as it’s mere points away from breaking the 10,000 mark. This indicates that it makes for at least a decent productivity workhorse. For me, this is a simpler tablet for internet browsing, media consumption, and smart home control.
Lastly for battery life, the Acer Iconia Tab P11 lasted 7 hours and 56 minutes (476 minutes) in PCMark’s Work 3.0 endurance test. This is pretty decent given that it’s among our longer-lasting tablets in this department, and it even managed to outlasts some foldables (using their larger screens) as well. As for charging speeds, this is what I managed to get using the included charger:
- 30 minutes = 19%
- 1 hour = 38%
- 1 hour and 30 minutes = 48%
- 2 hours = 59%
- 2 hours and 30 minutes = 71%
- 3 hours = 84%
- 3 hours and 30 minutes = 93%
- 3 hours and 47 minutes = 100%

The Good
There are number of reasons to consider getting the Acer Iconia Tab P11. For starters, it’s built surprisingly well for a budget tablet. This is thanks to its aluminum chassis with a matted surface, giving it a more premium feel while being resistant to fingerprint smudges. Further adding to that is that Acer includes a protective case inside the box, which also doubles as a handy kickstand for added convenience.
It also has a decent 11-inch display. It’s IPS LCD and the colors produced on it look rather vibrant, making videos look more enjoyable to watch. Further bolstering its multimedia capabilities is its quad speakers setup, which can get rather loud and is surprisingly rich, at least within built-in speakers standard. With two speakers on each side, it’s also balanced well, so you won’t get odd sensations of one side overpowering the other. If that isn’t enough, it does come with a 3.5mm audio jack, which is a rarity in this day and age.
Lastly, and this shouldn’t be a surprise given that it’s a budget-oriented tablet, is that the pricing is on the affordable side. It’s retailing for RM1,099 and at times, you can find it on sale for around RM800 to RM900. For the price, you would typically find tablets on the smaller size so if your emphasis on having bigger screens or general multimedia enjoyment, this would be one of the more attractive choices around.
The Bad
Of course, it has its share of drawbacks. For starters, while I did praise its display, its brightness could certainly use some improvements. For indoor use, it’s perfectly fine but it’s a bit too dim for outdoor use. If you happen to be in a bright environment or outside on a sunny day, it will be a bit hard to see what’s being displayed on it. Furthermore, the bezels are rather thick in this day and age.
The last thing worth pointing out is the lack of blue light reductions or eyesafe certifications. While this wouldn’t matter much for a lot of people, there has been a growing concern for how blue light affects our eyes, especially when we’re getting closer to bedtime. Personally for me, best to avoid using it 1 or 2 hours before you go to sleep.
Acer Iconia Tab P11 Verdict
The Acer Iconia Tab P11 is a rather enticing option for those looking at budget tablets. If your use case scenario is on the lighter side like watching videos or web browsing on a screen bigger than your smartphone, you would be perfectly happy with this but personally, I would pay a bit more to get one with a newer, more powerful chip.
At the end of our Acer Iconia Tab P11 review, I award this tablet with our Bronze Pokdeward.
