Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max: Potential Shortages at Launch

As September approaches, Apple enthusiasts eagerly await the unveiling of the highly anticipated iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, a new report suggests that both these flagship devices might face significant supply challenges upon launch, primarily attributed to screen manufacturing issues at LG Display.

The root of these problems lies in a new manufacturing process that aims to reduce bezel size, enhancing the overall aesthetic of the iPhones. However, this innovative approach has led to complications similar to those Apple encountered with some of its earlier Apple Watch models.

According to reports, the displays produced by LG for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are failing reliability tests during the fusion process with the metal shell. To ensure a smooth and seamless integration of the display, Apple is diligently working on redesigning LG-made displays to meet the required standards. In the meantime, Apple still has the option of using Samsung-made displays for assembly.

Despite Apple’s efforts to address the manufacturing hurdles, it is expected that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be particularly scarce upon launch, followed closely by the iPhone 15 Pro. As a result, consumers might face difficulties in obtaining these sought-after devices right from the start.

An earlier report had hinted at the possibility of Apple delaying the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max launch by a few weeks to address the manufacturing challenges. However, this recent source contradicts that claim, pointing instead to potential supply shortages as the primary concern.

While it remains uncertain whether the launch date will be postponed or affected by the supply constraints, it is evident that Apple is actively working to overcome these display-related obstacles. As we eagerly await further updates from Apple, it’s clear that the company is determined to deliver the best possible user experience with its latest iPhone models.
