iPhone SE 3 might be the most affordable iPhone yet
iPhone SE 3 is Projected to be Cheaper than its Predecessor
Apple’s much anticipated 2022 product launch starts off with the iPhone SE 3 which will succeed its predecessor that debuted in April 2020. Although the phone design will likely be the same, some analysts believe that the internal software will be improved in substantial upgrades.
According to a news report by Investor’s Business Daily, the iPhone SE 3 is rumoured to be more affordable and its base price could be as low as $300 USD (approximately RM1,259). This means that the phone could be cheaper than the latest model which costs $399 USD (about RM1,675).
Wedbush Securities analyst, Daniel Ives, believes that the starting price of the SE 3 will remain unchanged as Apple would not want to outprice itself since the company is currently going through its “strongest iPhone upgrade cycle it’s had since 2015”.
The 2022 iPhone SE 3, which will be aimed at consumers who are budget-conscious and looking for compact phones, is expected to attract about both Android and iPhone users alike. And even though Apple is not obviously recognised amongst the mid-tier phone sect compared to its’ competitors, the SE 3 may change that and is expected to help boost sales in the China market.
So what is the iPhone SE 3 expected to be like?
To be quick on the uptake, the iPhone SE 3’s design specs will be the same as the SE 2’s (based on the iPhone 8 with 4.7 inch LCD Panel and Home Button integrated Touch ID) but will have a faster chipset, namely the A15 Bionic which is the same chipset that powers the iPhone 13 line, and 5G connectivity.
Loop Capital Markets analyst John Donovan agrees to the statement above and adds that the smartphone will have better camera, which is in line with Bloomberg Mark Gurman’s earlier prediction. However, it still remains to be seen if the new SE will get iPhone 12’s primary sensor or iPhone 13’s main shooter.
The iPhone SE 3 will be announced online on March 8 and will share the visual stage with a new iPad Air tablet and a Mac. In October last year, Apple had a similar event where it revealed the third generation AirPods and a new MacBook Pro.
Pokdepinion: I honestly don’t know where Apple is going with the older design on the SE 3 seeing as the Touch ID function has not been around for quite awhile. But I gotta say, Apple does know how to profit off the current market trends as Face ID has become a bit of a hassle to use in an ongoing pandemic.
