It seems that the folks at LG will be introducing a new camera design for an unnamed smartphone soon. The design is apparently called as the “Raindrop” camera module.

We’ve seen a whole bunch of camera designs over recent times, with the square camera bumps being more of the recent ones, it seems that LG doesn’t want to follow the trend with the introduction of the new design.

It is said to be inspired by “the natural world” and according to the teaser that they’ve posted it appears that the new yet mysterious LG phone will be packing a triple camera configuration which is accompanied with an LED flash. Taking a quick look at it, it really resembles a raindrop.

Other than that, they’ve said to be introducing a new 3D Arc design, which is all about the curved edges of the front and rear of the smartphone, similar to the waterfall displays in other smartphones.

Here’s what the company has said on the matter:

This handset will be a first-look at the competitive edge we will bring to every LG smartphone going forward.

Cha Yong-duk, Head of LG Mobile Communications Design Lab

It’s not yet confirmed yet of the specifications of the device but reports suggest that it will come with 5G connectivity while being powered by the Snapdragon 7-series SoC.
