Nothing Phone (1) is Now Officially Available Starting 1 August in Malaysia
Nothing has officially debuted its first smartphone, the Phone (1), after months of anticipation and tease. Carl Pei, the company’s creator, also opted to reveal the gadget ahead of its introduction as an anti-leak strategy.
The Nothing Phone (1) features an AMOLED display with HDR10+ compatibility, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a sampling rate of 240Hz, sandwiched between two panes of Gorilla Glass 5.
The phone also features Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Plus processor powered by a 4500mAh battery with 33W charging. Pei states that the phone can be completely charged in one hour and last for more than a day. Apart from the standard wired charging, the phone offers 15W wireless charging and 5W reverse wireless charging.
The Nothing Phone (1) features only two cameras on the back which are 50MP cameras, one of which is a Sony IMX766 and the other, the Samsung ISOCELL JN1, which will function as the wide-angle camera.
The phone comes in two variations: black and white. Pei has unveiled three RAM and storage variations for the device which are 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB. The first two will be priced at RM2399 and RM2699 in Malaysia, respectively. The final variant is only available in black and does not have local pricing just yet.
The Nothing Phone (1) will be widely available on 21 July, but it will not arrive in Malaysia until 1 August. The final configuration would also be available at a later date, however, no specifications have been revealed.
