ZTE sub-brand nubia has introduced the nubia A77 5G to the Malaysian market. The new budget smartphone is powered by the Unisoc T8300 Ultimate chipset and runs on Android 16, with a bunch of AI features found throughout the operating system.

Powering the nubia A77 5G is Unisoc’s 6nm-based T8300 Ultimate chipset with an 8-core processor featuring clock speeds of up to 2.2GHz. The device comes with 6GB of RAM (expandable via Dynamic RAM to 8GB) and 128GB of internal storage, expandable to 2TB through microSD. The device has been certified by SGS laboratories for 50 months of sustained performance. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, along with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
The smartphone includes a 6.75-inch HD+ waterdrop display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Like many budget phones, you can find Wet and Oily Hand Touch technology keeping the device operable under wet or oily conditions. Regarding camera, it includes a 50MP+13MP dual rear camera setup and an 8MP front-facing camera. Its 5000mAh battery supports 22.5W fast charging and includes Bypass Charging function, which powers the device directly to reduce heat during gaming sessions.
Here are the AI-based features nubia has listed for the A77 5G: there’s AI Translate for cross-language communication, AI Memory for saving on-screen information through a three-finger pinch gesture, AI Social Publisher for generating photo captions, AI Smart Reply for suggested message responses, and AI Wallpaper for generating wallpapers from text descriptions. Additional features include AI Noise Reduction, AI Clearcall, real-time scam alert detection for calls and messages, and of course, Google’s own Circle to Search.
The nubia A77 5G is now available in Malaysia, in a single Obsidian Black colorway with 6GB+128GB configuration priced at RM1,099. The device can be purchased through Unifi Store outlets nationwide and through Maxis (which will be available by end of this month).
