OPPO Partnering Up with OnePlus

OnePlus and OPPO have announced a strategic partnership in which the latter will be investing a whopping $1.43 billion in the former over the course of the next three years.
The partnership will involve a “dual-brand” strategy in which OnePlus will focus on flagship smartphones with a zero net profit margin in order to maintain quality and features at their respective price points.
Furthermore, OnePlus products will be sold exclusively online in China and will be able to be repaired at OPPO’s service centers in the country. The partnership also includes the re-launch of the OnePlus community app in China. We will report more on this partnership as details become available so stay tuned.
Pokdepinion: Given the history of both companies, it’s interesting to see this happening but then again, it’s just business. If it helps both parties benefit / profit more, why not? It’s also beneficial for the consumers as well, though I’m hoping to see more further down the road.
