REDMAGIC 9 Pro and Pro+: Unleashing Power-Packed Gaming Smartphones with Cutting-Edge Specs
ZTE’s nubia brand has officially unveiled the REDMAGIC 9 Pro and Pro+, setting a new standard for gaming smartphones with unparalleled specifications. These devices boast the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, innovative designs, shoulder keys, and RGB cooling fans. While they share fundamental hardware, distinctions lie in battery capacity, charging capabilities, and RAM configurations.
REDMAGIC 9 Pro and Pro+
Both REDMAGIC 9 Pro models feature a striking 6.8-inch flat AMOLED screen crafted by BOE, delivering a resolution of 1,116 x 2,480 pixels. The 120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth gaming experiences, while the absence of a visible cutout accommodates a 16MP front-facing camera integrated beneath the display. The screens reach up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness and implement 2,160Hz PWM dimming to mitigate eye strain. Additionally, an under-display fingerprint reader doubles as a heart rate monitor.
REDMAGIC 9 packs 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and offers storage options of 256GB or 512GB UFS 4.0. On the other hand, the 9 Pro+ variant provides configurations with 16GB or 24GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. Both devices feature the updated ICE 13 cooling system, covering an extensive 10,182mm2 area. This advanced cooling system promises an 18° reduction in the phone’s running temperature, incorporating a graphene layer and an enlarged air duct for superior airflow. The fan within the device spins at 22,000 RPM with a 30% improvement in thermal conductivity.
Constructed with aviation-grade aluminum frames and flat glass backs, the REDMAGIC 9 Pro series exhibits a premium aesthetic. The camera setup includes a 50MP main shooter based on Samsung’s GN5 sensor with OIS, accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide lens. REDMAGIC OS 9.0, based on Android 14, handles the software department.
The REDMAGIC 9 houses a robust 6,500 mAh battery with 80W wired charging, ensuring extended gaming sessions without compromise. In contrast, the 9 Pro+ features a slightly smaller 5,500 mAh battery but compensates with staggering 165W fast charging. Both phones offer Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, a headphone jack, and an IR blaster.
The REDMAGIC 9 Pro starts at CNY 4,399 (RM2,880 / $620) for the base 8/256GB variant and reaches CNY 5,399 (RM3,566 / $761) for the transparent versions with 12/512GB storage. The REDMAGIC 9 Pro+ on the other hand begins at CNY 5,499 (RM3,632 / $775) for the 16/256GB variant and goes up to CNY 6,999 (RM4,623 / $987) for the top-tier 24GB RAM and 1TB storage version.
Sales in China commence on November 28, with international pricing and availability details anticipated at a later date. The REDMAGIC 9 Pro and Pro+ promise an unmatched gaming experience, combining high-end features and innovative design.
Pokdepinion: This certainly looks very promising, and it’s nice to see quite a major launch before the year ends. Sure, most of us elsewhere will likely only see it in 2024 but this at least gives a good glimpse of what to expect in the future.
