Redmi’s General Manager Wang Teng teased the highly-anticipated Redmi K80 series, revealing a glimpse of the K80 Pro’s impressive benchmark results. In China’s popular AnTuTu benchmark test, the Redmi K80 Pro scored a staggering 3,016,450 points, outperforming two unnamed competitor devices, which scored 2,832,981 and 2,738,065, respectively. These results showcase the K80 Pro’s powerhouse performance, indicating it’s geared to take the lead in the smartphone performance race.

Redmi K80 Pro

According to previous reports, the Redmi K80 Pro will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, while the standard K80 model will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Both models are expected to come with a 6.67-inch 2K flat display with a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and IP68-rated water and dust resistance.

For charging, the K80 Pro is rumored to support 120W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the vanilla K80 may come with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging capabilities.

Wang Teng also hinted that the Redmi K80 Pro will be priced below the OnePlus 13, which starts at CNY 4,499 (around $630 / RM2,744). For comparison, the previous K70 Pro launched at CNY 3,299 ($460 / RM2,012). While industry-wide price increases are anticipated this year, Redmi’s positioning of the K80 Pro could offer a significant value proposition in the flagship segment.

Interestingly, while no K80E model is planned for release this year, three members of the K80 series recently received certification, fueling speculation about potential additional variants.

Expected Launch

The Redmi K80 series, including both the K80 and K80 Pro, is expected to launch later this month. With robust specs and a promising price, the K80 Pro is positioning itself as a top contender in 2024’s smartphone lineup.

Pokdepinion: Pretty sure it will arrive globally, including Malaysia as well, just under a different name. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later.
