Samsung Galaxy S21 Unboxing and First Impressions
With Galaxy Unpacked 2021 now over and done with, I’m sure many of you are wondering how well the new smartphones perform. I’m proud to announce that we managed to get our hands on the base model Samsung Galaxy S21 early so we’re going to give you a special preview of it. Starting off with the box, it’s thinner than its predecessors, which is interesting at first glance.
The reason for this is because they didn’t include a charger inside the box. In fact, there’s no earphones either. It’s just a SIM Ejector tool, a USB-C to USB-C cable, user guide, and the smartphone itself. Some of you may be okay with it, and some of you may be unhappy. For me personally, I use a separate charger because my powered USB hub has two dedicated fast charging ports so I’m fine. I also have plenty of chargers lying around anyway.
For our review unit, we received the Phantom Violet colour variant. Personally, it’s the most attractive, eye-catching colour compared to the others but that’s subjective. If this isn’t your cup of tea, you can still go for Phantom Pink, Phantom Grey, and Phantom White.
The rear has a matte finish, which is great because it’s not a fingerprint magnet and it’s easier to grip. The camera cutout is noticeably different compared to its predecessors as it sits in the top-left corner. It’s described as the contour-cut camera and it houses the triple-camera system of the device. It still protrudes a bit but the design certainly gives it a cleaner look.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 has a 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with adaptive refresh rate. Like its predecessors, it has a punch hole cutout which houses the selfie camera as well as the under display fingerprint scanner. The bezels are thin and its solid build quality makes it pleasing to hold.
