Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 Rumoured to Launch Earlier than Expected
Rumours suggest Samsung will launch the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 earlier than their predecessors to improve Q3 earnings. They are expected to use the same M12 OLED material-based displays as before.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 May Launch Earlier than Expected
Samsung is rumoured to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 2-3 weeks earlier than their predecessors in late July. According to Korean publication The Elec, the early launch is an effort to improve Q3 earnings for the company. While Samsung has not confirmed or denied this rumour, leaked renders have given a sneak peek of what the foldables might look like.
The publication claims that some parts of the two foldable smartphones, such as the new droplet-style hinge, are already 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule due to the early launch. However, the production schedule of some other parts remains similar to last year.
Furthermore, The Elec suggests that the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 will use the same M12 OLED material-based displays as the Fold4 and Flip4, rather than the M13. This is in contrast to Google’s upcoming Pixel Fold, which is expected to use the newer M13 display technology.
While Samsung has not yet made any official announcement about the Galaxy Z Fold5 or Flip5, rumours suggest that the company is preparing to launch these devices in late July. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will confirm these rumours or stick to its previous launch schedule for its foldable smartphones.
