Sony is set to take mobile photography to the next level with its upcoming Xperia 1 VII flagship smartphone. According to recent reports, the device will feature the Exmor T sensor across all three rear cameras, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor, which only used this sensor on the primary camera.

Sony Xperia 1 VII Camera Upgrades

The Exmor T is Sony’s latest stacked CMOS sensor, utilizing a 2-layer transistor pixel technology. Compared to the older Exmor RS, this new sensor significantly reduces noise, enhances low-light performance, and improves dynamic range, promising sharper and more detailed images.

While Sony is making advancements in sensor technology, the camera specifications are expected to remain consistent with previous models. The Xperia 1 VII will reportedly sport a 52MP (48MP effective) main camera, accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 12MP telephoto lens, maintaining the balance between resolution and image processing efficiency.

Sony has historically unveiled its Xperia 1 flagship models in Q2 of the year, and the Xperia 1 VII is expected to follow suit with a potential launch in May. With leaks and rumors surfacing, more details about the smartphone’s features and capabilities are likely to emerge soon.
