The Sony Xperia 10 II is a Snapdragon 665-powered mid-ranger priced at RM1799
Sony announced the Xperia 10 II yesterday, a mid-range device which is priced like a flagship. Sony has equipped the Sony Xperia 10 II with some pretty cool features that you don’t usually get in the mid-range segment like an OLED display and a IP65/IP68 rating, but I am not exactly sure if it’s worth the rather lofty asking price of the Xperia 10 II.
Under the hood, you get a Snapdragon 665 chipset, the same chipset you find in sub-RM600 smartphones like the realme 5 and Redmi Note 8. The chipset itself is over a year old by now, and Qualcomm offers plenty of more powerful options in its Snapdragon 700 series of chips.
The chip is paired to 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, with the Xperia 10 II also supporting microSD cards up to 1TB. The battery in the Xperia 10 II is much smaller than the aforementioned mid-range devices though, with a small-ish 3600 mAh unit keeping the lights on.
Things begin to look a little better when you look at the display, as its a 6″ 21:9 FHD OLED panel. It sports TRILUMINOS technology to improve your viewing experience and the ultra-wide aspect ratio helps you better enjoy movies on the Xperia 10 II. Over on the back you get a triple camera setup, with a 12MP main camera supported by an 8MP ultra-wide shooter and an 8MP telephoto camera. It also supports 4K video capture, in case you want to unleash the videographer in you.
Coming from the Xperia 10, you now get a new glass back and the new IP65/IP68 ingress protection, but you will still have to settle for a plastic frame with the Xperia 10 II. Here are the specifications of the Xperia 10 II:
Sony Xperia 10 II Specs
