vivo V30 & V30 Pro Now Available In Malaysia, With Updated Aura Light
Chinese smartphone maker vivo today has officially launched its latest mid-range smartphone, the vivo V30 and V30 Pro. As with the previous V-series models, the new lineup brings further upgrades to its cameras, which now feature Aura Light 3.0, as well as ZEISS-engineered cameras on the Pro variant.
Compared to the previous Aura Light iteration on the vivo V29, the new Aura Light 3.0 (which is now box-shaped) offers “19 times larger and 50 times softer” lighting than a standard LED flash, while also capable of adjusting the color temperature on the fly with 20% wider adjustment range compared to its predecessor.
To maintain consistent lighting, Distance-Sensitive Lighting adapts light intensity based on the distance from points of interest – meaning, it’ll dim itself when the object is up close and maximum lighting is not necessary, or boosts the brightness when the subject is far away. vivo is also bringing ZEISS down to its mid-range lineup for the first time, with the V30 Pro being the first model to feature ZEISS optics on its camera system. Three 50MP sensors are available for both models, plus one 50MP sensor at the front.
On the chassis department, the V30 series is now slimmed down even further to just 7.45mm thick (excluding the camera bump), making it the thinnest vivo smartphone so far. Packed within this slim chassis is the 5,000mAh battery that was made slimmer with new production techniques. Improvements have been made on the longevity, and vivo claims the battery can hold 80% charge after roughly 4 years of use (or more specifically, 1,600 charge cycles).
Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while the display is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2800 x 1260 (slightly more than FHD resolution, but below QHD). Brightness is rated at 2,800 nits at its peak, which should be plenty for outdoor use.
The vivo V30 series is now available to pre-order nationwide – prices start from RM1,999 for the 12GB+256GB option, with the 12GB+512GB variant costing RM2,199. The V30 Pro is only available with 12GB+512GB configuration and costs RM2,599. The company says the standard V30 models will be available starting on March 16, whereas the V30 Pro will be available from March 30 onwards.
Pokdepinion: Pretty interesting to see this smartphone taking a different approach to lighting when most solutions are often done in the post-processing.
