In terms of physical footprint, the vivo X Fold5 weighs 217 grams, while thickness is claimed as 9.2mm – both figures only apply to the Titanium Gray variant, however. For the Feather White color, that extra shade of paint adds both weight and thickness to 226g and 9.7mm, respectively. Still, both features the same redesigned hinge that supports up to 600,000 folds, and on the subject of durability, the device offers IP58/IP59 water and dust resistance, along with protection against temperatures as low as -20°C.

Unlike the 2025 flagships however, the X Fold5 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. To be fair, this combination of parts will still be very fast, but you’re likely missing out on some of the power efficiency gains that could further extend the endurance of its combined 6,000mAh battery. Charging the cells will be a quick affair, given its 80W dual-cell wired charging, along with 40W wireless charging support.

The X Fold5’s displays are the brightest foldable displays to date, according to vivo; they offer up to 4500 nits peak brightness on both the 8.03-inch main and 6.53-inch cover screens, with resolutions of 2480×2200 and 2748×1172 respectively. While both displays use slightly different variants of AMOLED panels, the specs are identical otherwise, which include 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, DCI-P3 gamut, Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.

The foldable’s imaging system is once again co-engineered with ZEISS, featuring a 50MP periscope telephoto lens (with Sony IMX882) with 3x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom, a 50MP main camera with Sony IMX921 sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera featuring Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor and a 120-degree field of view. Both of the front-facing cameras are the same, with 20-megapixel sensors.

Customers can enjoy exclusive promotions at vivo Concept Stores from 2 August to 1 September 2025, including up to 24 months of 0% instalment plans and rebates for eligible trade-in devices.

Pokdepinion: That’s three foldable smartphones launched in this month alone – looks like the form factor is picking up the pace in the smartphone market.
