The Xiaomi Mi Reader Pro comes with a big 7.8-inch display with an e-ink screen and 330 PPI. You can adjust the brightness of the screen with 24 levels to choose from as well as the color tone from warm to cold.

Under the hood, it packs a 3200mAh battery and it packs 2GB RAM that’s mated with 32GB of internal storage. The device is said to be packing a quad-core processor and it runs on an older Android 8.1.

Aside from that, it supports a voice search feature to quickly find what you’re looking for. Not to forget, the reader supports Chinese platforms such as Baidu and WeChat Reading where Xiaomi has offered several of their Xiao AI voice functions for a better overall experience.

You can even transfer books from a phone if both devices are using the same Wi-Fi connection. Supported file formats include .txt, .epub, .pdf, and Microsoft Office documents.

If you’re living outside of China, well there’s some bad news. Priced at CNY 1,099 (~RM681), the Xiaomi Mi Reader Pro is only available in China. There’s no official details on whether it will make it out of the country but if it does, we’re sure to keep you updated. Till then, stay tuned to Pokde.net.

Pokdepinion: Let’s hope they do bring it here to Malaysia. I do know several people who would like to enjoy reading on a big display. That voice assistant feature also would come in handy but it seems that they’ve only got it for Chinese at the moment.
