LG Unveils OLED Flex LX3, World’s First Bendable 42-inch OLED TV

Users can bend and choose the curvature option from completely flat to 900R.

LG Unveils OLED Flex LX3, World's First Bendable 42-inch OLED

LG has just announced its OLED Flex LX3 TV which literally bends: the company touts the model as the world’s first 42-inch OLED to be capable of user-customizable curvature options. The adjustment range goes from completely flat to a highly curved 900R, with 20 intermediate stages of curvature in between to choose from.

As for the panel itself, it’s a 4K 120Hz panel, though the spec sheets are rather vague when it comes to certain features like color gamut. Based on what we can find on the certifications, you should expect at least 90% of Adobe RGB (which is wider than DCI-P3, and most likely covers it entirely in this case), 0.1ms response time plus an α9 Gen 5 processor that handles the image processing duties. The display is 25% less reflective over OLED Evo models with the new Super Anti-Reflection coating, says LG.

There’s two ways to adjust the curvature, first is adjust manually in 5% increments; or if you prefer to just go all flat, simply press the button on the remote control and the TV will do the job for you. Additionally, the articulation includes +10°/-5° tilt and height-adjustable stand with 140mm of range, and the stand itself comes with RGB lighting on the back.

The LG OLED Flex LX3 includes a suite of gaming-centric features, including image resizing down to 32-inch or 27-inch, a new Game app that provides quick access to streaming platforms and external input devices, and multi-view mode that lets user selects which input’s audio gets through its pair of 40W front-firing Dolby Atmos speakers. The display is also NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible as well as AMD FreeSync Premium certified.

The LG OLED Flex LX3 is now exclusively available on Shopee and Lazada at the price of RM13,199 – customers will also be eligible for a free XBOOM360 XO3 Portable Speaker (worth RM1,299) upon purchase.
