Garmin Malaysia has launched the Garmin Celebrates Lokal campaign in conjunction with the 2026 Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations, combining local art, community activities and wellness initiatives. The campaign is positioned around encouraging Malaysians to stay active through daily routines, outdoor activities and community-based fitness experiences while highlighting local creativity and cultural identity.
Garmin Celebrates Lokal Campaign: What To Expect
The campaign will also include a series of community activities across August and September, including Pound with PWH at KL Tower on 22 August 2026, a trail run with Garmin Trail Club at Bukit Dinding on 30 August 2026, a yoga session at Perdana Botanical Garden on 5 September 2026 and the She Runs Lokal women’s community run during KL Car Free Day on 13 September 2026. Registrations for the activities will open on 17 August 2026 through Garmin Malaysia’s official social media channels.

A central component of the campaign is Garmin’s collaboration with Malaysian self-taught artist Izzati Suza, whose doodle-inspired illustrations are known for depicting everyday Malaysian life through pop art and caricature elements. As part of the collaboration, Garmin and Izzati Suza have produced an exclusive merchandise collection and a limited-edition Garmin watch face inspired by Malaysian culture, which is now available for download via Garmin Connect IQ.
Garmin is also running a Happy Merdeka Day promotion offering discounts of up to 40% on selected Garmin products until 31 August 2026 – customers who purchase Garmin devices during the promotional period will receive a Garmin Celebrates Lokal sticker pack, while those spending RM2,000 or more will receive a Garmin Celebrates Lokal Tumbler Blind Box, subject to stock availability.
Pokdepinion: Combining local art, community activities and accessible fitness initiatives gives the campaign a broader cultural focus beyond the usual technology-driven wearable marketing approach.
