White Xbox Series X Emerges From Leak, New Disc-less Version?

eXputer has provided exclusive information on the new Xbox Series X variant, except this time itās white, and disc-less. The outlet has shared multiple images of the new console variant, which looks mostly identical to the original black Series X, sans disc slot.
While the most obvious difference is the lack of disc drives, making this an all-digital console ā the report also claims that the console has upgraded heatsinks, but no other āmajor enhancementsāĀ have been made to the hardware. Losing the disc drive means some of the consoleās value will be lost, including the ability to play Blu-ray media. To sweeten the deal, Microsoft may reduce the price of this console variant from its $499 retail price for the original model.
If you remember the massive leak that occurred last September, one of the planned models intended to be Xbox Series Xās mid-cycle refresh is a console codenamed āBrooklinā. While the concept of a cylindrical-shaped console seems not to make it into the final product, itās unclear if any of the planned improvements to Brooklin, such as power efficiency, may make its way to the white Series X.
In any case, the report claims that Xbox may release this white Series X āthis summer,ā where it may face competition from Sony in the form of PlayStation 5 Pro, which is expected to be released by this yearās holiday season.
