PlayStation Looks To Push Towards Mobile Gaming

Sony PlayStation appears to be wanting to focus on the mobile gaming segment as a job posting revealed that they are searching for a new Head of Mobile.
PlayStation to venture to mobile gaming
The job posting was submitted by PlayStation Studios where the applicant would be located in either San Mateo or Los Angeles.
Though they have experience when it comes to handheld consoles with the likes of the PSP and PS Vita, it seems that they are looking to bring their popular games to smartphones.
In the job description it says that they will need to “oversee the development of the mobile games strategy for PlayStation Studios and help build a foundation for future growth opportunities”. The position listing also describes “successfully adapting PlayStation’s most popular franchises for mobile”.
While it is possible for Sony to port games as they are to mobile, it is more likely that they will reimagine their games to be more suitable for smartphones, where you’ve got the usual ads and microtransactions.

Pokdepinion: I mean I’m not surprised if they indeed venture to the mobile gaming segment. Not everyone has a PC or console.. there’s a higher percentage that they have a smartphone though. There’s definitely a market there. Let’s just hope that their games aren’t “meh” when they do arrive.
