The long-rumoured Android handheld gaming device is finally here as the Razer Edge was officially revealed at RazerCon 2022. Here’s what we know thus far.

Razer Edge 5G Android Gaming Handheld

Razer Edge 5G Android Gaming Handheld Unveiled at RazerCon 2022

The Razer Edge is an Android gaming handheld that can play both mobile games and PC games. The reason for this is because it will come pre-installed with a number of game launchers, namely Epic Games, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and NVIDIA GeForce Now. You could even access your games library on Steam, Link, Moonlight, and Parsec.

As for its specifications, the Razer Edge will be powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1, and chip that is focused on gaming with a 3GHz octa-core Kryo CPU and Adreno GPU. Apart from that, it uses a 6.8-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate. All of this is expected to be juiced up by a healthy 5,000mAh battery.

To make gaming more enjoyable, it will come with the Razer Kishi V2 Pro, which is essentially the customizability of the Kishi V2 with Razer HyperSense haptic feedback and a 3.5mm audio jack. There will be a Wi-Fi version as well as a 5G version of the device.

The Razer Edge Wi-Fi edition will be retailing for USD $399.99, with pre-orders now open with a USD $5 deposit. The price and availability of the 5G version is unknown at the moment but we expect it to be announced sooner rather than later.

Pokdepinion: Not sure if I would go for this over a standard smartphone but if the performance is really that strong, it might just be worth considering if you’re often out and about.
