Earth Defense Force 5 for Nintendo Switch 2 is heading to Asian markets on October 8, 2026, with Clouded Leopard Entertainment confirming the Traditional Chinese and Korean localized versions will launch simultaneously with the Japanese release.

Earth Defense Force 5 Gets Localized Versions
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Earth Defense Force 5 builds on the franchise’s existing online co-op mode, which supports up to four players, with the addition of local wireless multiplayer. Players can bring their Nintendo Switch 2 systems together to enjoy cooperative play with up to four participants, with each player requiring their own console and copy of the game.
The game also supports two-player split-screen co-op, making it accessible for players sharing a single screen. Audio is available in Japanese and English, while subtitles cover Traditional Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and English.
