PSA: DO NOT Peel Off Nintendo Switch OLED Protective Cover for Display
The Nintendo Switch OLED Model will come with a protective cover for the display pre-installed. You should NOT remove it, and here’s why.
PSA: DO NOT Peel Off Nintendo Switch OLED Protective Cover
For those of you who are getting or have already received their unit of the Nintendo Switch OLED model, this variant of the console has a protective cover on the glass screen. Do not under any circumstances remove it / peel it off.
The display of the Nintendo Switch OLED model is made of glass and features an “anti-scattering adhesive film” which is designed to prevent the glass from shattering into sharp, tiny pieces if it breaks. It will also prevent your fingers from getting cut as well.
To our understanding, it will be hard to notice the protective cover on the display. In case you do, Nintendo is adamant about no removing it, as it’s stated in the owner’s manual, which literally reads “Do not peel off the anti-scattering adhesive film from the OLED screen of the console.”
As for adding a screen protector on top of it, Nintendo has confirmed that doing so for extra protection is perfectly fine, so you don’t have to worry about that.
Pokdepinion: Now that’s disaster averted for myself. I know I myself have a tendency of removing any and every protective film that I can find on my new gadgets. Would have royally screwed myself over badly without realizing it.
