Call Of Duty’s Rebooted Modern Warfare Series Now Reveals Third Installment
Not to be confused with the 2011 title – the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has been revealed by Sledgehammer Games, one of the three major studios responsible for the FPS franchise (the other two being Infinity Ward and Treyarch).
The upcoming title will be released in November 10th this year, as revealed in the end of the teaser trailer, and players are expected to see the continuation of events since Modern Warfare II – where Task Force 141 members teamed up with Mexican Special Forces to track down and recover the lost missile, which ended up in the hands of terrorists. The subsequent events should revolve around Captain Price and Vladimir Makarov, as revealed in the teaser.
The previous works of Sledgehammer Games (as a leading studio) include COD: Vanguard, COD: WWII and COD: Advanced Warfare. The studio started out as a co-developer for the original MW3, amid staff exodus from the lead developer at the time, Infinity Ward. The studio has been in the assisting role in all non-Sledgehammer titles since 2019, which includes rebooted Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and MWII.
Pokdepinion: That’s rather unusual, given that we haven’t seen consecutive releases under the same sub-franchise before.
