It appears that the upcoming Genshin Impact character Yelan might get some form of censorship, and fans are reportedly not happy about it. Here’s what we know thus far.

One of the more highly anticipated characters coming to Genshin Impact is Yelan. Unfortunately, there have been rumours circulating about the character possibly getting some form of censorship as the character appears to look different from previous teasers. According to miHoYo, the characters are designed in a different fashion so they don’t have to censor it post-release.

A number of gamers have noticed that Yelan’s appearance bears a resemblance to alternate outfits that we’ve seen recently, and it might point to a possible trend with miHoYo moving forward. Some are so upset about it, they claimed that they will not be buying a Welkin just to prove a point.

It’s hard to say for sure if Yelan have and will be censored or not. We haven’t got to see a clear look of the previous appearance as well so we have nothing to compare it with. In fact, this alleged new design could be what they intended to be all along. However, perhaps miHoYo could make some changes based on the feedback they received from the fans.

Genshin Impact is currently available for free on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Android, iOS, and PC. A Nintendo Switch port of the game is coming sometime in the near future.

Pokdepinion: People may be upset about it but they’ll eventually live with it and continue playing the game. It’s not devastating enough and it doesn’t affect the game anyway, just visuals.
