2022 ROG Zephyrus M16 and ROG Strix G lineup coming to Malaysia from RM5399!
ASUS Malaysia has just announced the latest additions to the 2022 ROG lineup, comprising of the ROG Zephyrus M16 and ROG Strix G series. The ROG Zephyrus M16 mainly received a hardware refresh, while the ROG Strix G15 and ROG Strix G17 gets a refreshed design, available in two unique colorways and of course, new hardware under the hood as well.
ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022)
On the outside, there really isn’t any difference. You still get the beautiful off-black finish with the vibrant Prismatic Film under the CNC-milled holes on the lid, and the smooth soft-touch coating on the palm rest area. But given that the ROG Zephyrus M16 is still one of the best looking laptops from ROG yet, I guess we can let the lack of a new design slide.
But what’s important is what’s under the hood, and for the 2022 refresh we get the new 12th Gen Intel Core processors and up to the latest GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics. Considering that the last-gen ROG Zephyrus M16 topped out at the GeForce RTX 3070, the 2022 model should deliver a very welcome boost in terms of both CPU and GPU performance.
ASUS also equipped the ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) with the latest ROG Nebula display, offering a sharp 16:10 WQXGA resolution, as well as stunning color gamut coverage with 100% DCI-P3 support. While specifications wise it is very similar to yesteryear’s ROG Zephyrus M16, the ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) gets Dolby Vision support, as well as the new MUX Switch, that allows for improved performance by connecting the display directly to the dedicated GPU.

Interestingly enough, ASUS managed to offer us better value with the refresh, with the 12th Gen model starting at RM900 lower. You do get a smaller 512GB SSD instead of the 1TB SSD that was included in the 11th Gen Intel Core model, but hey, the CPU and memory upgrades more than makes up for it.
ROG Strix G15/G17 (2022)
If you want something that’s flashier and more affordable, the ROG Strix G15 and ROG Strix G17 are probably perfect for you. The ROG Strix G15 and ROG Strix G17 this year have been refreshed with the latest AMD Ryzen 7 6800H processors, which brings with it support for DDR5 memory, PCIe 4.0 storage and also improved performance. You also get a MUX Switch to better take advantage of the dedicated graphics.
Esports gamers can also look forward to the 300Hz and 360Hz panel options available with the ROG Strix G15 and ROG Strix G17, respectively. Unfortunately if you want a funkier color option, you won’t get the choice of the more performant displays, which can be a slight bummer.
