Portal With RTX Detailed – Launch Party & Release on Dec 8
Valve’s video game classic, Portal, will soon celebrate its 15th anniversary – and it gets a new breath of life with latest graphics technologies courtesy of NVIDIA RTX, DLSS 3, and more.
NVIDIA’s in-house Lightspeed Studios has created this ray-traced rendition of the Valve classic as a free, official downloadable content (DLC) for existing Portal owners starting on 8 December 2022. While RTX is the headlining feature, NVIDIA has also enhanced the game with its frame-generating DLSS 3 and low-latency Reflex mode, with the DLSS 3 capable of boosting framerates by 2.8x over native performance.
DLSS 3 is exclusive to RTX 40 series graphics cards; DLSS 2 is available for RTX 30 series GPUs which NVIDIA claims will bring the game to a “playable experience”. Detailed recommended specs for the RTX-enhanced Portal are listed as follows:
In line with the DLC launch, NVIDIA will also host a launch party – gamers are invited to join the livestream on Twitch, YouTube and Steam on 6 Dec 2022, 10AM PST (7 Dec 2022, 2AM MYT) for the behind-the-scenes and be eligible to win giveaways including Portal game codes, GeForce RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and more.
