Just this past weekend, Steam has broken their concurrent player record as they managed to surpass the 30 million player mark.

New Concurrent Player Record for Steam

Steam has broken yet another record as they have surpassed 30 million concurrent players online for the first time just this past weekend. The exact number is 30,032,005 online users over the weekend, breaking the previous record which occurred during Elden Ring’s launch.

Given the sheer amount of major releases recently, it’s not a surprise to see the high numbers. This includes the Campaign Early Access for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Personal 5 Royal, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, Gotham Knights, A Plague Tale: Requiem, and more.

As for the games with the highest concurrent players, CS:GO had the biggest number with 1.05 million players, DotA 2 was second at 750,000 players, and PUBG at 3rd place with 440,000 players. Apex Legends and Lost came in 4th and 5th place respectively.

In case you’re wondering, they do count gamers who are browsing the store or their communities page as active users, so there will be a chunk of them who aren’t necessarily playing games.

Pokdepinion: Not gonna lie, I wasn’t expecting this sort of record to be broken anytime soon since the hype is on Overwatch 2, which is a Blizzard game that uses their own launcher on PC. Congratulations, Valve.
