Rockstar Games’ critically-acclaimed Red Dead Redemption is making a re-debut: the game is now available in both Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 (also available on PS5 under backwards compatibility mode). In this release, the game also includes the zombie-themed Undead Nightmare DLC into a single bundle for the price of $49.99 through Nintendo eShop and PlayStation Store.

The remastered version of the game will be running up to 1080p 30FPS on the Switch and standard PS4 models, with 4K available on PS4 Pro; PS5 (backwards compatibility) versions will run at 4K resolution by default. It also gained additional language support on top of the ones available in the original release, including Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Latin American Spanish.

In this re-release, bonus content from Game of the Year Edition including Tomahawk, Explosive Rifle, and Golden Guns weapons, along with the Savvy Merchant and Expert Hunter outfits, and more – will come included in-game. Hardcore Mode is also supported, with trophies available to unlock in PS4 consoles (in-game achievements for Switch version instead).

Red Dead Redemption follows on the plot set on its sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, featuring American West outlaw John Marston and his journey to track down the remaining members of the notorious Van der Linde Gang to save his family. Meanwhile, the Undead Nightmare DLC takes the story to a zombie-themed twist with Marston fighting hordes of zombies in search for a cure.

The physical copies of the Red Dead Redemption re-release will be available starting October 13.

Pokdepinion: A bit of a shame the game is still not available for PC platforms. Could it still be in Rockstar’s future plans?
