No The PS5 Isn’t Being Delayed In Southeast Asia

No delay for the PS5 in Southeast Asia

We previously reported that the PS5 might be facing a delay in its release in the Southeast Asian market. This is down to Sony quietly removing the “Holiday 2020” release period on the official pre-order page in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Now Southeast Asian gamers can breathe a sigh of relief as we have new information that pretty much puts the delay worries to rest.

Could Sony Be Looking to Acquire Konami to Bolster PS5 Offerings?

According to an email statement sent to MP1st by Sony, they clarified the whole situation by stating:

We can confirm that the PS5 will also become available in MY/TH/ID/PH/VN and that we are currently in the process of preparation towards the launch.

SIES will make announcement on MY/TH/PH/ID/VN release dates and pricing when we are ready. Please keep a lookout for our local announcements on PS5 release in respective countries.

Sony also assured gamers in Southeast Asia that the PS5’s release date will be announced when they are ready to do so. Hopefully the console’s eventual release isn’t too far off from the global release.

Pokdepinion: Well that’s a relief. I wonder when will Sony be ready to announce the console’s release date?
