Acer Swift 7 Makes a Surprising Debut in Malaysia
If you’re someone with an active lifestyle, constantly on-the-go in your professional life, then this laptop might be the one for you. The Acer Swift 7 had a surprise reveal during the Predator launch and roadshow at Sunway Pyramid, and it’s a very fine piece of machinery.
For starters, the Acer Swift 7 is a very portable laptop even by ultrabook standards. It weighs a mere 890g and is only 10mm thin. Its fanless design will also make it a very quiet machine to work on in any given scenario. It packs a surprising amount of power still as it’s powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core CPU with 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and up to 512GB NVMe SSD.
The Acer Swift 7 has a 14-inch Full HD IPS display with 100% sRGB and 92% screen-to-body ration, which allows it to show vivid and accurate colours and is generally a joy to look at. For added touch of versatility, it is a touchscreen display so it’s still convenient to use even without a mouse. For the sake of protection, the display utilizes Corning Gorilla Glass 6 but the touchpad has Gorilla Glass 3.
Interestingly, the Acer Swift 7 has two USB Type-C Gen 2 ports for fast transfer speeds, and Gigabit Wi-Fi with 2×2 MU-MIMO technology. It is said to have up to 12 hours of battery life, which is amazing and also very convenient if you can’t be around a wall socket often. Of course, we’d like to test this claim ourselves to see how true it is.

The Acer Swift 7 is currently available at all Acer authorized dealers nationwide and Acer official online stores. It will be retailing for RM5,999 for the i5 variant, and RM7,599 for the i7 variant. Both of them will come with 2 years local warranty with first year International Travelers warranty. If you purchase this at the Predator Roadshow in Sunway Pyramid which ends on 30th June 2019, you will get RM500 off and also a free gift in the form of Edifier speakers.
