Previously, we saw the 120Hz ProMotion display on the Apple iPad Pro. Soon, it looks like we can expect a major upgrade coming for the iPhone 2020 as Apple is expected to include the 120Hz ProMotion display on their upcoming smartphone.
According to Twitter user @Universeice, Apple is expected to include a switchable 60Hz / 120Hz refresh rate display for the upcoming iPhone 2020, Essentially, consumers can use 60Hz for regular use and get better battery life, or opt for 120Hz for an ultra-smooth experience which would be great for gaming.
Apart from that, it’s said that Apple is in talks with LG and Samsung on an AMOLED display with this capability. We’ve seen the Razer Phone series with 90Hz refresh rate, and ASUS with 120Hz on their upcoming ROG Phone 2. It’s worth nothing that the ROG Phone 2 is expected to also have switchable refresh rates; 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz.
We’re likely to see multiple iPhone models again this year. That being said, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this feature only available for the higher end models. We might also be seeing 5G integration, and ToF camera support if recent leaks are to be trusted.
Pokdepinion: I’m wondering if I should jump back to the iPhone bandwagon or no. Kinda wished there is one with a screen that’s as big as my HUAWEI Mate 20 X though, that would be great.
