There is no truth to this rumor.

There has been some rumours circulating around about Fallout 76 going free-to-play. This came after reports that physical copies of the games were in short supply in Australia, which was taken note of by a customer who visited EB Games, a game retailer in Australia, and noticed the lack of the game.
It appears that there is no truth to the rumour.
Twitter user @xGTExDopey tweeted to Bethesda saying that they want their money back if Fallout 76 goes free-to-play, as seen at the top of this post. Bethesda simply responded to the tweet by stating that “There is no truth to this rumor.”
Hi Andrew,
This information is categorically incorrect. EB Games will continue to support Fallout 76 both brand new and preowned, and it remains an active product through both our stores and website. Customers can now pick up the EB Exclusive Tricentennial Edition for $79.95.

Even EB Games has stepped in to respond to people asking about the rumour, stating that the information is “categorically incorrect” and that the game remains “an active product”.
While the assumption that the lack of physical products on the shelves will result in the game becoming free-to-play is a bit far-fetched, it’s somewhat understandable given the amount of issues that have plagued the game since launch. To name a few reasons, there was the situation with the nylon bag, issues with the price of items in-game, and inaccessible Nuke codes.
The game continues to receive updates to fix a number of issues but a large number of issues have already voiced out their frustrations with the game, so it may be challenging for the game to thrive.
Fallout 76 is available now for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Pokdepinion: Personally, I already gave up on the game and I’m not surprised if plenty of others have as well. I don’t really care for it being free-to-play, just that there are tons of issues to fix.
