[CES2018] Sony Unveils Latest Audio Products – Includes World’s First Truly Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones!
At CES 2018, Sony has unveil a handful of audio products and system which includes hi-resolution headphone, noise cancelling sports headphones, wireless speakers, as well as home audio systems.

Following the success of MDR-1A headphones that was launched back in 2014, the new MDR-1AM2 brings new and improved features to the table. They are compatible with up to 100kHz frequencies playback and packs a newly developed 40mm HD driver unit. It features a Fibonacci-patterned grill to support ultra-high frequency ranges as well as silver-coated OFC (oxygen free copper) for less transmission signal loss.
The headphone comes with two cables, a standard one as well as a 4.4mm connection headphone cable.
MDR-1AM2 are lighter than their previous model, meaning for longer wear at home or on the go. It comes in two color variants; Black and Silver and will be available in Malaysia from mid March 2018.
Sony has introduced at CES 2018 the world’s first truly wireless headphones with noise cancellation in the form of Sony WF-SP700N headphones. If that’s not enough, it also comes with a Splash-proof design. Needless to say, you can now truly focus on your workout without distraction or worrying about too much sweat.
If you’re outdoors and still want to be aware of your surroundings, you can turn on its Ambient Sound mode to stay aware of surrounding sounds. They also comes with Sony EXTRA BASS sound that will give u a deeper and punchier bass edge. You can also tweak with the EQ settings with Sony’s Headphones Connect app.
It comes with a compact, one-touch-open charging case. The headphones can benefit from approximately three hours of battery life plus two additional charges from the case, meaning up to 9 total hours in between charges.
The Sony WF-SP700N will be made available in our shores from July 2018 onwards.
Up next is the WI-SP600N headphones. It has the same Digital Noise Cancelling and sound quality as the WF-SP700N, as well as the same Splash-Proof rating. The difference as you can see is that it’s not fully wireless.
It is connected by a band that sits behind the neck and features arc supporters which are based on the ergonomics of the ear, ensuring flexibility and a secure fit.
Similar to the WF-SP700N, it will be available later in July 2018.
With Sony’s WI-SP500 headphones, you’ll be getting an open-type driver unit that recognize ambient sounds, as well as an IPX4 rating. It offers NFC for easy connectivity to your headphones.
Battery wise, it lasts eights hours on one full charge. The headphones’ earbuds feature rubber dimples, ensuring that they will not easily slip out.
It will be released in Malaysia from mid of March 2018.
Over to the wireless speakers section, first up is the SRS-XB41 speakers. They can create an ‘EDM atmosphere’ in your home with speaker lights, multi-color line lights and even flashing strobe lights.
XB31 is equipped with multi-color line lights and flashing strobe effects to get your party started.
Compared to the other two speakers, the XB21 has a simple approach with having just a single color line light.
All these speakers offers deep bass and punch bass. There is also LIVE SOUND mode that creates a three-dimensional music experience, as if you’re in the middle of a music festival, according to Sony. The new fabric material design are robust and washable. They are also waterproof and dustproof with an IP67 rating, meaning you can opt to bring the speakers to the beach, pool party or even put them in the mud (not that we are suggesting you to do so but you get the point).
They come with a 24 hour battery life. With the new Party Booster feature, it can be used like an instrument and can detect tapping from 5 different directions that generates a sound and lighting reaction.
All three speakers will be made available from June 2018.
The new speaker from Sony offers 350-degree party lights that illuminate the room, providing with the perfect party atmostphere. It comes with an interesting guitar input mode that generates guitar overdrive sound effects without the use of a guitar amplifier. You can become a DJ as well with gesture control with just wave of your hand.
A new TAIKO mode allows you to use it like a drum. With this, you can add your own twist to songs by tapping the touch panel.
It will be made available in Malaysia from July 2018.
