[Computex 2018] MSI brings it on hot and heavy — announces two new bezel-less gaming laptops, among others!
MSI @ Computex 2018
MSI is prepared to elevate your gaming experience with a whole array of gaming laptops, desktops, monitors, PC components and even a new gaming keyboard. As one of the leading Taiwanese tech brands, Computex 2018 is definitely a major event for MSI, and they want to impress. We would say they succeeded, but here’s what they had at Taipei.
New thin, bezel-less laptops
The MSI GS65 Stealth Thin is surely a head-turner, but the pricing is prohibitively expensive for most. MSI understands this, and they brought out the new GF63 series at Computex, packing the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics and up to 7+ hours of battery life, all with a 2.0kg weight.
The MSI GF63 is designed to deliver an amazing gaming experience, aided by the updated MSI Dragon Center 2.0. Also on the agenda of the MSI GF63 is to make thin, light, portable gaming machines more accessible than ever before, so this baby is expected to be a great deal more affordable than the MSI GS65.
For those who desire a less gamer design with their laptop, there is the Prestige PS42. This laptop comes with the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processors too, and NVIDIA GeForce discrete graphics into a chassis that is 15.9mm thin and 1.19kg light.
To address professional demands, there is even a fingerprint scanner embedded into the Prestige PS42. 10+ hours of battery life and a near-bezel-less display round off the list of features available with the Prestige PS42.
A tiny desktop with a huge load of performance
The MSI Trident A is the first compact desktop PC to feature an SFX power supply and a MSI graphics card in a 12-liter chassis. It’s compact dimensions belie the powerful performance within — the Silent Storm Cooling thermal system which utilizes three airflow streams to cool the major components when gaming. It’s outlook is also enhanced by RGB illumination on the outside and a tinted glass side panel to show off the innards.
Get a new view on things
The Oculux NXG251 series is the first gaming monitor with 240 Hz G-SYNC, with a 0.5ms response time TN LED panel. Aside from the insanely fast display panel, the MSI Oculux NXG251 will come with Mystic Light Sync, for customizable RGB illumination behind the monitor.
Meanwhile if curved monitors are more your thing, the MSI Optix MAG271CR and MAG241CR monitors come with curved 144 Hz VA panels for a fluid and immersive gaming experience. The new Gaming Echo feature introduces responsive RGB lighting that reacts to in-game audio and lighting effects for further immersion.
Build your dream game machine
Based on the AMD B450 platform, the MSI B450 TOMAHAWK is designed and optimized for 2nd generation AMD Ryzen processors on the AM4 platform. The extended heatsink, PWM and circuit design ensure optimal performance even during grueling all-night-long gaming sessions. Of course, there is Mystic Light RGB illumination and 10 preset LED effects for a customized look to go with your build.
If you are after more gaming performance, there is no better card for that than the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X TRIO. Three TORX 2.0 fans keep the high-end GPU cool, while Military Class certified components ensure reliability. The GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GAMING X TRIO also comes with customizable Mystic Light RGB illumination divided into three zones on the card.
Tap your way to victory
The Vigor GK80 GAMING keyboard is equipped with Cherry MX switches, RGB Mystic Light Sync and a full-sized wrist rest. The wrist rest doubles as a storage for the additional keycaps, preventing them from getting lost. Built upon a tough and durable aluminium frame, the Vigor GK80 GAMING will withstand everything you can throw at it.
Pokdepinion: Hopefully the GF63 is the first of many affordable light and slim gaming laptops. It’s high time we can enjoy both performance and portability, without having to rob a bank!
