[Computex 2019] ASUS VivoBook S14 and S15 Refreshed – Gets the ScreenPad and Looks Even Better

The VivoBook S14 (S431/S432) and VivoBook S15 (S531/S532) just got a breath of fresh air and it looks nothing short of the infamous ZenBook Pro from last year. You’re right! The mainstream line up now gets the innovative ASUS ScreenPad 2.0 secondary screen which will enhance your productivity like never before. To make things fun, ASUS has brought in five unconventional color-blocking finishes that gives it a rather chic look too.

The ScreenPad 2.0, powered by ASUS’ latest ScreenXpert software, now had a larger 5.65-inches touchscreen and the VivoBook S14 and S15 are the first in the series to feature it. It includes some handy ASUS utilities: Quick Key enables one-tap automation of complex keyboard sequences, Handwriting for natural text input, Number Key for data entry. Revised from the previous generation, it has a smartphone-like interface that improves it from its predecessor. ASUS has also implemented API for developers to optimize their software and user experiences for ScreenPad. Even the hardware is more efficient now providing more than twice batter life when the ScreenPad is being used.

The VivoBook S14 and S15 have metal chassis and comes in Moss Green, Punk Pink, Cobalt Blue, Transparent Silver and Gun Metal finishes and I have to say, the colors really bring out the personality of these beautiful laptops.

The display is a NanoEdge providing the machines with a more compact chassis footprint. At 1.4kg and 1.8kg respectively, they are definitely lightweight to carry around. The frameless four-sided NanoEdge display provides up to 5.2mm thin bezels and 88% screen-to-body ratio for more immersive visuals. The ErgoLift hinge tilts the keyboard up to 3.5° providing a more comfortable typing experience.

Under the core, ASUS has also included Intel powered Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) that delivers faster internet than conventional 802.11ac cards. The built-in IR camera offers hands-free face detection login that works closely with Windows Hello. The Harman Kardon certified audio also provides immersive audio, making the VivoBook S14 and S15 totally lovable.
