[Computex 2019] ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581) Unveiled – Groundbreaking Productivity with ScreenPad Plus

ASUS has announced the ZenBook Pro Duo (UX581) that brings the last year’s ScreenPad to a whole new level, so interesting that we have a dedicated article just to talk about it. In a nutshell, the ScreenPad Plus provides another functional display to the laptop, bringing unrivaled productivity in this segment.

The ZenBook Pro Duo is powered by 9^th Generation Intel Core processors, coupled with 32GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 and up to 1TB PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe SSD.

In the display department, the primary display is a beautiful 15.6” OLED 4K (3840 x 2160) 16:9 aspect ratio touchscreen with a four-sided frameless design featuring a 89% screen-to-body ratio. To make it even more interesting, the ZenBook Pro Duo supports 100% DCI-P3 color gamut together with HDR to deliver vivid and realistic colors with deep blacks.

Right underneath it is the secondary display, the ScreenPad Plus that is a 14” 4K- (3840 x 1100) 32:9 aspect ratio LCD IPS which placed above the keyboard, bringing innovative multi display to portable laptops.

Right next to the keyboard, to the right is ASUS’ latest version of the NumberPad, an LED-illuminated numeric keypad integrated into the touchpad – which is no longer a new sight among ASUS’ high-end laptops. To make things more interesting, there is also integrated Amazon Alexa voice support, with a dedicated light bar at the front of the laptop that illuminates when its in listening mode.

In the powerhouse department, the top of the line ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo is powered by 9^th Generation Intel Core i9 8-cores processor with up to 5GHz Turbo Boost frequency and 32GB DDR4 RAM. The Turing based Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 provides gaming performance with ray-tracing for ultimate visual realism.

There are also some latest cutting-edge technologies embedded underneath including full set of I/O ports that includes a Thunderbolt 3 enabled Type-C USB port. The wireless network has been bumped to Wi-Fi 6 using Intel Gig+ 802.11ax for super smooth connections.

Ensuring the wild beast is tame all the time, there is a Turbo Fan button that enables boost cooling on demand, while ASUS’ signature ErgoLift hinge improves airflow under the laptop for improved performance.

If you want to have this ScreenPad Plus based laptop but not willing to break the bank, there is a 14-inch ZenBook Duo (UX481) for your consideration which will be available much later this year. It supports the same great ScreenPad Plus features as its larger sibling, but in a lighter and smaller chassis. Powered by up to an Intel Core i7 processor and GeForce MX250 graphics, it has an FHD NanoEdge display and an FHD ScreenPad Plus.
