The VR One comes with a HDMI port, Mini DisplayPort, ultra-fast Thunderbolt 3 port for transfer speeds up to 40Gbps and multi display output, four USB 3.0 ports and an extra DC out to power the HTC VIVE. It is not only portable, but it can fully function as a desktop replacement unit.

Working with VR Portal in Malaysia, MSI aims to deliver an interesting VR experience to everyone from the casual consumer to the gaming enthusiasts on what VR can do for you. VR Portal, although being a new to the IT world, has garnered its own segment of fans. The company reveals that the related technology and hardware are mainly imported from the United States and they have a group of in-house specialists that focus on continuously improving and the related technologies and any technical issues should they arise. The company is also moving toward creating and designing its own VR content to better serve their customers’ needs.

Currently, in conjunction with the school holidays, VR Portal has introduced student package with attractive and affordable prices to encourage the students to come and experience this new technology. Pricing are as follows:

  • RM 30 for off-peak (11am to 5pm) and RM 35 for peak hours (5pm to 2am); while for non-students, you may also enjoy the VR experience at RM 39 for an hour/ per cubicle.

If you are looking to get your own MSI VR One for your personal use, the pricing starts from RM10 499 for the variant with a GeForce GTX 1060 (VR One 7RE), while the variant packing the higher end GeForce GTX 1070 will cost you RM12 499 (VR One 7RD).

Pokdepinion: I don’t think many will purchase a VR One except for the most hardcore enthusiasts of VR, but then the availability of one of their most unique designs shows that MSI takes our Malaysian market seriously.
