The topic of the Microsoft Windows 10 Start Menu has seen some heated debate among consumers worldwide since its release. This lead to Microsoft asking for feedback, specifically on the User Interface, in which the feedback could be used for a new look and layout. Now, we have a glimpse of it as leaks have started surfacing online.
The Windows 10 Build 18947 was accidentally distributed to testers in the Windows Insider program who were using 32-bit systems. This particular build was only intended for internal staff working on Xbox development. While it looks the same for the most part, it did have one particularly new thing.
This leaked build contains a new stripped-back Start menu design, which you can see at the top of this post courtesy of Twitter user @NTAuthority. The redesign doesn’t have the Windows 10 Live Tiles, which was created to make it more user-friendly for touchscreen use.
There’s been word that Windows Lite will be adopting a similar design to the one seen in the leaked build. It’s supposed to have a more minimalist design which will be competing with the Google ChromeOS. This isn’t an official announcement by Microsoft however so do take this information with a grain of salt. If anything, it could give us a rough idea of what type of design to expect.

Pokdepinion: Personally, I don’t like the redesign. Looks are subjective and some of you may prefer it this way, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I just personally feel like it’s an eyesore.
