At this year’s MWC 2019 in Barcelona, HMD Global introduced the new Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 4.2 smartphones, where they come with a unique LED notification button on the side of both devices. Now it seems that HMD has applied for a design patent for it, according to Nokia Mob.

Aside from their attractive prices, ~RM566 and ~RM688 respectively, HMD thinks that the feature could attract and could end up being a trend for smartphone makers. Seeing how the button could be a welcomed addition to any device, it’s hard to argue on why they took the decision.

Apart from the button, they also registered their patent design for the new Nokia 210, which was submitted last year in November 2018. It was approved and published on 6th of March 2019.
