PS Store Malaysia Will Have Additional 6% Charge for Tax in 2020

If you plan on buying anything on the PlayStation Store, you may want to do it as soon as possible. Starting January 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment will have an additional 6% charge for digital goods on PS Store Malaysia under the sales and services tax (SST).
To be precise, the 6% tax charge will begin on PS Store Malaysia on 1st January 2020 at precisely 8AM. The charge will be applicable for all purchasable items and subscription services except for PS Plus and e-wallet reloads / top ups.
You may also see different prices at the product detail page and the check out page. Just keep in mind that this will be due to the 6% tax charge and nothing else. If it seems to be different than the expected rate, you may want to file a report on that.
Interestingly, it was mentioned that the price updates will be implemented on items sold on PS Store Malaysia from 4th January to 6th January 2020. It’s most likely referring to prices being inclusive of the 6% tax by then, but we’ll have to wait and see.
