Samsung announces Android Oreo update roadmap, AFTER Android Pie has just been announced
Samsung, a brand which isn’t known to push updates out to their mid-range and entry level devices that quickly, appears to have just woken up. Days after the Android 9 Pie update was announced for the Pixel devices, Android Pure found Samsung announcing their Android Oreo update roadmap for a slew of their more affordable devices.
The list includes devices from the Galaxy J, Galaxy A, Galaxy C and Galaxy On series, with the roadmap spanning from December this year all the way to March 2019. Thankfully, their latest flagships are already running the latest Android updates.
With the Galaxy Note 9 launching later in New York, it should be first in line for Android 9 Pie. Samsung has yet to announce any Android 9 Pie updates, but we should be able to find out more about that tonight.
Pokdepinion: Considering most lower end smartphones don’t even see a major update, Samsung’s move, while late, is a good one.
