The Samsung Galaxy A80 has been spotted on SIRIM, so it should be launching here pretty soon. The most premium Samsung Galaxy A smartphone comes with a sliding mechanism which ingeniously flips the rear cameras to the front, so you can take awesome 48MP selfies. What’s less awesome is that you will probably have to pay a small fortune for it, given the Samsung Galaxy A70’s price. And you also won’t be getting Samsung Pay.

The SIRIM listing for the Samsung Galaxy A80 reveals that it won’t have NFC, which enables Samsung Pay to simulate your contactless payment cards. The feature is arguably Samsung’s best feature yet, as it skips the hassle of scanning QR codes in favor of a simple tap and pay method. Samsung has equipped their previous generation of Samsung Galaxy A7 and Galaxy A9 devices with the technology, but it seems like they will be reserving Samsung Pay for their flagship lineup only.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 does have a few aces up its sleeve which places it ahead of its brethren in the Samsung Galaxy S10 series, but it seems like Samsung Pay won’t be one of them. At least you will be enjoying faster charging, a bezel-less, notchless and cutout-less screen, as well as better selfies, right?

Pokdepinion: Well, perhaps Samsung is going to use Samsung Pay as a differentiating factor within their product stack, rather than to differentiate Samsung devices from the competition?
