HUAWEI will be launching the HUAWEI nova 4 very soon, but if you want an earlier peek at what these cut-out screens look like, you can wait for the Samsung Galaxy A8s which will be launched on 10th December.

Interestingly, according to GSMArena, Samsung will not be using their Super AMOLED panel here, but instead use one made by BOE. Looking forward, we can expect to see Super AMOLED Infinity-O Displays, but perhaps this was not to be.

The Samsung Galaxy A8s will be the first smartphone to market sporting a cutout in the display for the selfie camera. Aside from that standout feature, the Samsung Galaxy A8s is expected to feature pretty standard mid-range specifications such as a Snapdragon 710 with 6GB RAM, and a 24MP selfie camera.

Pricing is yet to be disclosed, but knowing Samsung’s habit of overpricing their mid-range and entry-level devices, we don’t expect this to be cheap at all. Meanwhile, stay tuned!

Pokdepinion: If GSMArena is accurate, it is really quite interesting that Samsung isn’t using one of their own panels. Does that mean that Samsung is currently incapable of punching a hole through their Super AMOLED panel?
