Samsung To Release Portable SSD That Comes With Fingerprint Scanner
It seems that Samsung is releasing a brand new portable SSD in the form of the Samsung T7 Touch, which also comes with a fingerprint reader.
Why exactly did they implement that? Well your storage’s content would definitely be safer, should you happen to lose it for what ever reason. Adding to that, they’ve also added AES 256-bit hardware encryption and password for more security.
In terms of performance, it’s said to offer 1GB/s read and 1GB/s write speeds.
As for connectivity, it supports USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A and the connector of the device supports 10Gbps speeds thanks to its USB 3.2 port.
Coming in with three storage variants, the T7 Touch will be available in 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB, with prices of $129 (~RM526), $229 (~RM934), and $399 (~RM1,628) respectively.
Despite scheduled for a release later in the month, availability in Malaysia is yet to be confirmed.
Pokdepinion: They are certainly not cheap.. but how much would you be willing to pay for that added security?
