Now facial recognition isn’t something new. It’s been around for some time. Despite that, the folks at MSI has decided to implement the feature to their brand new gaming monitor.

The monitor is called the Optix MPG341CQR, where your face can be used to activate your preferred display settings.

In terms of size, it is 34-inches and offers a ultra-wide QHD resolution (3440 x 1440) that comes with 1800R curvature. Performance is not an issue with the Optix MPG341CQR offering with a 144Hz refresh rate as well as 1ms response time.

Coming back to its facial recognition system, it is able to do so thanks to the camera at its bottom bezel. It seems that MSI calls the monitor to be ‘smart’ or ‘AI’ monitor. Thanks to it, it uses facial recognition to identify the user and change the monitor settings based on the user’s saved profile.

Additionally, the monitor is capable to adjusts its own brightness, based on the light that’s available in its surrounding. In terms of ports, it offers two HDMI 2.0, two USB 3.2 Gen 1, DisplayPort, Type-C, USB 3.2, Type-B headphone, mic in and a PC to monitor audio port.

MSI has said that the MSI Optix MPG341CQR gaming monitor will be released in Q3 of this year at the price of $799 (~RM3346)
