Twitter Will Be Removing User Accounts In December 2019

According to reports, it seems that Twitter is sending emails to their users who are inactive as to warn them of their decision to remove accounts that are deemed in that category.

How would one be considered “inactive”? Apparently if you haven’t log in for the past six months, then sadly you’re a part of the group.

A spokesperson from Twitter has said “As part of our commitment to serve the public conversation, we’re working to clean up inactive accounts to present more accurate, credible information people can trust across Twitter. Part of this effort is encouraging people to actively log-in and use Twitter when they register an account, as stated in our inactive accounts policy”.

It appears that the removable will be in phases and not all accounts (inactive) would be removed at the same time.

Here’s the email that’s sent out to those inactive accounts, courtesy of GSMArena:

Hello,

To continue using Twitter, you’ll need to agree to the current Terms, Privacy Policy, and Cookie Use. This not only lets you make the best decisions about the information that you share with us, it also allows you to keep using your Twitter account. But first, you need to log in and follow the on-screen prompts before Dec. 11, 2019, otherwise you account will be removed from Twitter.

Pokdepinion: Personally, I’ve never really been a fan of using Twitter. I wouldn’t be surprised to see myself getting the mail.
