Xiaomi has just unveiled their latest premium flagship smartphone, the Mi Mix 3 at the Forbidden City just moments ago.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
With the new device, it comes in three colors and an innovative magnetic slider. The device features a camera setup that has achieved a DxOMark score of 108, which is quite impressive. It offers a four-sided curved ceramic back panel in a new Sapphire Blue variant and for the phone’s RAM, it can go up to 10GB.
One of the interesting thing about the Mi Mix 3 is that it comes with a patented magnetic slider, which gives a new interactive experience. It incorporates neodymium magnets that have been carefully calibrated. Once you push the screen down, the magnetic mechanism kicks in immediately and finishes the opening in a snap with just the right amount of force. It’s been reported by the company that the slider has a life expectancy of 300,000 cycles in lab tests.
Other than that, the Mi Mix 3 offers a 6.39-inch 2340×1080 FHD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 thanks to the notchless-display.
Interestingly, the full-screen slider is fully customizable, where users can slide open the phone to answer calls or customize it to launch different functions. Additionally, there’s a special in-game function for the slider, which allows you to access screen capture, screen recorder, or even hide notification during your gaming sessions.
For cameras, it sports a 24MP+2MP that sports a Sony IMX576 main sensor on the front to capture even more detail than before. The secondary sensor captures depth information to create an AI bokeh effect. As for its main camera, it offers the same sensors as the Mi 8 with a 12MP+12MP combo. Despite that, they’ve introduced a new steady handheld night photography mode, bundling various features such as hardware multi-frame noise reduction, AI light metering, as well as AI image stabilization and calibration.
The rear dual camera also features 4K video recording and 960 fps slow-motion video capture, which comes supported by an AI background music feature that adds sound effects automatically according to the flow in the video.
Mi Mix 3 supports Qi standard wireless charging and even comes with a 10W wireless charger that is 30% more effecient that its predecessor.
In addition, the Mi Mix 3 is the first Xiaomi device to offer a dedicated AI button, which can be found on the left side of it. You can use it to wake the Xiao Ai voice assistant by holding down the button and customize one-click and double-click to perform different functions.
Mi Mix 3 will be available in Jade Green, Sapphire Blue, and Onyx Black in China with prices starting from RMB3,299 (RM1,980) for the 6GB/128GB, RMB3,599 (RM2,160) for the 8GB/128GB, and RMB3,999 (RM2,400) for the 8GB/256GB variant.
